ApiTrade Africa offers services that enable apiculture industry in Africa address its challenges while taking advantage of the ever-increasing trade opportunities. Our services are structured to meet the needs of our members, and the needs of the industry as a whole. We therefore work in partnership with subscribed members, government departments, non-governmental agencies, producer organizations and international organizations in four main areas, namely:

1. Market development

  1. Business fora e.g. ApiExpo Africa
  2. Linking producers and buyers
  3. Providing customized information to traders and producers through The African Honey Magazine, the website, workshops, stakeholders’ platforms, direct contacts, etc.
  4. Advertising and promoting national sector events in Africa e.g. The Honey Week (Uganda), ApiEthiopia Expo (Ethiopia), etc.
  5. Market research & market information dissemination
  6. Business and trade missions within and outside Africa

2. Investment promotion

  1. Establishing channels that facilitate new investors to enter the value chain e.g. Business Clinics.
  2. Developing tools for investment promotion e.g. national apiculture sector profile. Use of such tools quickens decision making on the side of investors since they present detailed and factual information about the sector: opportunities, challenges and institutional arrangements.

3. Policy development

  1. Developing methodologies which can be used in policy formulation processes
  2. Facilitatating policy formulation processes
  3. Engaging governments on policy enunciation, adoption and / or adaptation
  4. Supporting the development of strategic plans for implementing apiculture policies

4. Lobbying and advocacy

  1. Awareness creation through The African Honey Magazine, websites, workshops and direct engagement meetings.
  2. Policy dialogue through conferences and workshops.
